Jet JTMS Software

Jet-JTMS is a modular Journey Time Monitoring System based upon CitySync’s accurate Jet Automatic Number Plate Recognition Software.

Infra red cameras are positioned at critical nodes around a city or along motorways. These cameras read vehicle license plates in real time as traffic passes. Accurate ANPR processing takes place in the camera or at the roadside and the data is continuously transmitted back to a central JTMS Server which processes this traffic data and produces accurate up to the minute journey time data for any set of nodes.  This data can then be exported to other traffic management systems.

A simple to use graphical interface allows complex systems to be set up and maintained in a clear and informative way.  Maps or schematic images can be used as backdrops to the JTMS system view for added clarity.

Behind the scenes the highly accurate CitySync ANPR clients feed data through to the JTMS Server which hosts and displays the JTMS calculations.  The real time JTMS engine runs very efficiently as it continuously matches License Plate for each vehicle in the system.

Max lanes per node:              100

JTMS Features

Simple user friendly display of average journey times on screen.

Optional LED signs can be used on roads to display average journey time for 2 alternate routes allowing drivers to make an informed decision before they reach heavy traffic.

In calculating the average journey time the following parameters are required:

  • Distance between the nodes in miles or kilometres

  • Vehicle data caching. i.e. if an average journey time is 10 minutes in clear traffic and 30 minutes at rush hour then 40-60 minutes worth of records could be used for each calculation.

  • Frequency of update. i.e. use journey times within the last 5 minutes only for the average displayed.

  • Outlier multiplier. If this is set to say 2.5 then any vehicle taking more than 2.5 times the average journey time will be excluded from the calculation. This is in order to exclude vehicles which may stop at a restaurant or petrol station within the journey.
