CitySync has recently commissioned its first significant project funded by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Chicago. It forms part of the Chicago Homeland Security Grid. That will eventually blanket the City with a virtual shield to provide early detection of any potential terrorist attack.

Chicago is a major city in the state of Illinois; it is the third largest City in North America with a population of approximately 3 million with a further 33 million annual visitors. Chicago is the financial, cultural, transportation and business capital of the Midwest.

Extreme CCTV’s LPR cameras and CitySync’s ALPR recognition and application software is being used for screening and logging vehicles at strategic points around the City.

“We are very pleased to have been chosen as the Technology Provider for this key security project.

We live in a world where we need to extract as much information and intelligence from images as we can and in real time. Our application software is very user friendly and delivers the required high level of sophistication for such projects.

When we read a plate we can match it in real time to multiple agency databases and provide immediate operator feedback to take the appropriate action.

Our vehicle event file contains full details with any pictures captured and can be quickly and easily searched by multiple users across the network. Searches include full or part license plate, time & date or other known factors. The full history of captures of any particular vehicle can be also be viewed".
