An ANPR system consists of some very clever algorithms running on a fairly powerful computer.
The software will run on just about any PC - and can be connected to a standard Video-for-Windows frame grabber - or even a plug-in USB grabber. Off the shelf colour CCTV video cameras can be connected using any old cable to the PC - and the system will work.
Not very well of course ! .... but by taking some care in specifying and matching ALL of the hardware components then a reliable and accurate ANPR System can be built.
