WIRELESS ANPR REDUCES COSTS & PROJECT TIME

CitySync, the leading UK and International provider of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR / ALPR), has announced its entry into the Wireless Communications Market.

Many of CitySync’s key partners are involved in large scale projects for Town Centres, Highways, Car Parks and Retail & Industrial Parks where the likely cost of civil works for the video transmission medium (fibre, coax or twisted pair) make the project too costly for the available budget. Also by removing most of the planning and permit issues both time and project cost overrun risks are significantly reduced.

GPRS can sometimes be a solution, but it has limited bandwidth for transmitting ‘overview’ vehicle images captured along with each vehicle event detail, and there is the associated ongoing cost. A wireless communication system can transmit high volume traffic data with pictures over IP just like any wired network and with no ongoing costs.

CitySync’s offering includes a comprehensive product range covering the transmission and receiving hardware, site survey and turnkey installation. Wireless networks can be configured to work over relatively short distances of 50m to 60 kilometres or more.

Lawson Noble, CitySync’s Chief Technical Officer added: “The products on offer are at the Professional end of the scale and should not be confused with some of the basic wireless systems available for home networking. In addition, the technical support we provide with this range of products is an essential part of our offering to give our partners confidence as this is a specialist field and our integrator partners simply do not have the time or resource to become experts in everything”.
