Police Forces
A large number of police forces throughout the UK use the Jet ANPR recognition engine in mobile systems. Traffic police are able to read vehicle number plates and automatically check them against the national computer database. If a match is found the officer will immediately be informed of the ‘hit’ and details of the suspect vehicle will be displayed on their screen. Many mobile systems have the additional feature of allowing the cameras to be removed from the vehicle and positioned at the road side. Mobile systems use either an MDT (Mobile Data Terminal), a laptop or a rugged PC. More recent installations use the new Jet RoadRunner a rugged 12v Rapid Deployment System which can be moved between vehicles and can capture 4 lanes of high speed traffic simultaneously. It comes with a smart front end designed specifically for the Police’s requirements.
